One Missing in Pamekasan Waterfall

Pamekasan, E. Java - An unidentified visitor went missing in a waterfall of Berkong hamlet tourist resort, Kertagena Tengah village, Pamekasan district, Madura Island, East Java province, on Sunday, police confirmed.

Chief of Kadur police precinct, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Syakrani confirmed here on Sunday that an unidentified visitor drowned in a waterfall of Berkong Hamlet, Kertagena Tengah village, Kadur sub-district, East Java.


The police, according to him, was still identifying the victim.

Dozens of people assisted the local police in finding the victim pending the arrival of a Search and Rescue (SAR) team from the town of Pamekasan which is about 30 km from the waterfall. According to a local resident ,Fauzi, it was not the first that people drowned in the waterfall.

Some time ago, Ibnu Abbas, a resident of Praganaan villge, Sumenep, Madura, drowned in the deep waterfall, Fauzi said, adding that Ibnu Abbas could not swim well.

Such fatal accident in the rocky practically happened each year, Fauzi added. (antarajatim.com)
